The Indian movie ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike, as directed by Aditya Dhar, which has gained publicity was actually shot in Serbia and not in India.

In an interview with ETimes, Kirti Kulhari, one of the performers in the movie, said, “It is funny that this film actually got shot in Serbia. I don’t know why we decided to shoot there. However, it was amazing how we were in a different country and yet when we were all together shooting this film, we never felt that we were not in our own country.”

She added: “We were shooting there with the choppers and Mi-17 and there was defense personnel around us. I think if you are in the defense, serving your country, the feelings are the same. I actually had a Serbian man as a co-pilot next to me. I was being explained by Serbian Air Force pilots.”

Uri: The Surgical Strike’ was written and directed by Aditya Dhar as produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The movie featured many performers like: Vicky Kaushal, Kirti Kulhari, Yami Gautam and many others.

The film was based on a real-life incident that took place in a place called ‘Uri’ in Jammu and Kashmir in 2016.

Kirti played Seerat Kaur, an Air Force pilot, whose role was short in the movie, but she has received immense love and appreciation for her performance.
