He made this disclosure in an interview with Legit, where he talked about about his journey into the movie industry, and the possibility of staying atop since his debut.
He said: “Yes, I once thought of it that I could become an actor but I did not know I would be this successful at it. You know I have a goal and a vision of what I wanted to do. God has done beyond my expectations.”
The athletic actor stated that in life he aimed to be a successful public figure that the movie industry has offered him.
“I wanted to become a successful person. I wanted to become that successful public figure. So, acting was the platform for me to get myself out there,” he stated.
About the challenges that he has encountered in the industry, he explained that criticisms and hate are some of the obstacles, which are driven by poverty and not excellence.
He said: “A lot of criticisms. There is a lot of hate in our society. In Nigeria, we are all driven by poverty, not excellence. So, when you are driven by poverty, it is rush hour. So, everyone would just try to look for their moment.”
The movie star expressed that the Yoruba movie industry can make an actor more popular than the English movie industry, because they have more fans when compared.
He said: “The fact is that the Yoruba movie industry has much more leverage and a voice than the English movie industry. If you exist in the Yoruba movie industry, you will get more recognition because they have the numbers and the masses at hand.”
“I have done more English movies than the Yoruba. There is a large Yoruba crowd than the English,” he added.
The handsome actor claimed that he maintains his seriousness when it comes to advances from female fans, and he does things based on his decision.
He said: “I don’t deal with it. I am a very serious person, bro. You must have control over things of such. Nothing influences anything I do but my decision.”
