Okey Bakassi Says Nigerian Government Is Settling Criminals Instead Of Entertainers

Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, popularly known as Okey Bakassi, has come out to ask Nigerians who is taking care of Nigerian youths that have refused to go into crime if criminals like kidnappers, insurgents and militants are being settled by Nigerian government.

He stated that service chiefs that were retired are being re-appointed despite a statement from one of them that it will take Nigeria 20 years to fight insurgency.

The ace comedian expressed surprise that some clerics and governors have made their support for the herdsmen, kidnappers and insurgents public justifying why they should be accommodated and settled.

He said that for a comedian to host a successful show in Lagos, the comedian will spend millions of Naira, and may experience low patronage as many notables may not attend the event, despite providing employment for event managers, service providers etc., and paying for publicity.

The award winning actor expressed concern that there has not been any assistance for those in the entertainment industry as the Covid-19 pandemic has paralysed business activities for them as the nature depends on spectators.

Ironically, he said if the youths in the entertainment industry decide to go into crime maybe it will be a way to be honored by the government that have refused to offer assistance, instead they’re settling criminals.
