Ghanaians React As Shatta Wale Plans To Retire From Music And Go Into Other Businesses

The popular Ghanaian musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. known as Shatta Wale, has announced his plan to retire from music after his last album.

The musician, who posted this information about his planned retirement on Twitter, stated that his ‘GOG’ album will be his last album.

Shatta Wale stated that he had made enough in music and he’s prepared to venture into other businesses so as to create employment for upcoming artistes .

He wrote: “THIS #GOGALBUM WILL BE MY RETIREMENT ALBUM. Made enough to go into new businesses and create employment for those who still want to follow the course!”

Wale achieved street credibility and popularity with his 2004 single “Moko Hoo”, which featured Tinny, and the song earned him a Ghana Music Awards nomination.

Thereafter, Shatta, known as Bandana then, went missing in the music industry for almost a decade. He rebranded himself in 2013, and began to release music with his new name, Shatta Wale, under his record label, SM Records.
