The musician, who posted this information about his planned retirement on Twitter, stated that his ‘GOG’ album will be his last album.
Shatta Wale stated that he had made enough in music and he’s prepared to venture into other businesses so as to create employment for upcoming artistes .
He wrote: “THIS #GOGALBUM WILL BE MY RETIREMENT ALBUM. Made enough to go into new businesses and create employment for those who still want to follow the course!”
Wale achieved street credibility and popularity with his 2004 single “Moko Hoo”, which featured Tinny, and the song earned him a Ghana Music Awards nomination.
Thereafter, Shatta, known as Bandana then, went missing in the music industry for almost a decade. He rebranded himself in 2013, and began to release music with his new name, Shatta Wale, under his record label, SM Records.
In 2017, Shatte was ranked “Most Influential Musician” on social media, and made a record 2019 by winning eight awards as a dancehall artist at the 3 Music Awards ceremony.
