The shooting of the film started at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, outside London in September 2020, after the pandemic delayed a March 2020 start.
The film is based on Harry Potter books and films, and features Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander.
“A team member from Fantastic Beasts 3 has tested positive for COVID-19. The diagnosis was confirmed as a result of required and ongoing testing that all production employees receive, and the team member is currently in isolation,” a Warner Bros. Pictures spokesperson said in a statement.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Fantastic Beasts 3 paused production and will be back up in accordance with safety guidelines,” the spokesperson added.
The movie is to be released in July, 2022, is directed by David Yates, and screen-played by J. K. Rowling and Steve Kloves.
Johnny Depp has been replaced by Mads Mikkelsen as he was told to leave late last year after losing a libel case against a British tabloid which branded him a “wife beater”.
The film will parade cast like Jude Law as Professor Albus Dumbledore, Dan Fogler acting as Jacob Kowalski, Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, and Katherine Waterston acting as Porpentina Goldstein.
