Burna Boy Listed To Perform At 63rd Grammys

The Nigerian musician, Burna Boy, has made list of artistes to perform at the 63rd Grammy Awards scheduled for Sunday, March 14.

The organisers of the event revealed the news on Tuesday in a post on their official website explaining in details the activities for this year’s edition of the awards.

Burna will be performing at the event alongside Lido Pimienta, a Latin electropop musician; Poppy, an American singer as well as Rufus Wainwright, another American singer.

The event will be hosted by Jhené Aiko, a three-time Grammy nominee.

The Academy stated that all of the premiere ceremony performers and the host are nominated in this year’s edition.

Burna Boy has been nominated in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category with his 2020 album ‘Twice As Tall’, and he’ll be hoping to win it at the forthcoming edition of the awards.

This will make it his second Grammy nomination, as he was nominated in the ‘Best World Music Album’ category at the 62nd Grammy for his ‘African Giant‘ album but lost to Beninese singer-songwriter, Angelique Kidjo.

This year’s edition of the awards was previously scheduled for January but was postponed over concerns on Covid-19 pandemic.

It will kick off with a tribute performance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic Marvin Gaye’s track “Mercy, Mercy Me”

The Academy said that the event will be streamed live internationally via thier official website.
