Burna won the award for the Best Global Music Album with his album “Twice as Tall” beating other nominees like Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).
Burna was nominated for similar category at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, which was won by the Beninese singer, Angélique Kidjo.
His nomination in the 63rd edition of the awards made him the first Nigerian with back-to-back nominations at the Grammys.
He has won many other awards like Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards and African Artiste of the year at the 2020 VGMA’s.
Burna also performed at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
