The bail was in the sum of 80,000 cedis ($13,900) pending her appeal against her 90-day jail sentence for posting a naked photo of herself beside her son on social media.
The judge explained that her bail was because she was a young first-time offender, and had shown remorse by pleading guilty to the charge.
The judge added that the court considered the welfare of her son when deciding her release on bail.
The actress was recently sentenced to 3 months in prison by the Circuit Court in Accra for going nude in a picture she took with her son on his birthday.
Though at the time, some agreed with the judge’s remarks, but social media users had been calling for the actress’s release using the hashtag #FreeAkuapemPoloo.
Meanwhile, the Ghanaian award winning News Anchor, Serwaa Amihere, has contrary opinion about Poloo’s release, as she wrote: “A person is convicted on her OWN PLEA. This means that the person accepts that he or she is wrong.
“The natural consequence of pleading guilty on your own volition means that you are ready to be punished. How are we asking for this person to be freed….”.
