The 32-year-old singer filed the case with the court on 15th January, 2021.
The duo have reportedly represented themselves throughout the discussions but they will not be officially divorced until a judge agrees and signs off the proposal.
Adele and Simon began dating in 2011, and they dated for seven years before they tied the knot in May 2018, and they were both blessed with a son, Angelo, on 19th October, 2012.
It has been a long process since Adele initially filed for divorce in September 2019, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
This followed her representatives announcement in April 2019 that the couple of eight years had parted ways. Her team said in the April 2019 statement, “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly.”
At that time, the filing showed that they both wanted joint custody of their eight-year-old son Angelo, with visitations to be negotiated in the mediation process.
In March 2020, they both signed a confidentiality agreement regarding the details of their divorce.
Speaking to Us Weekly at the time, a source said the relationship “didn’t work out” because it had “evolved” and they were, in the end, “more like friends than lovers.”
The insider continued to say that they “realised the romantic love was no longer there.”
Rumors surfaced in June 2020 that she was dating British rapper Skepta after they exchanged some flirty Instagram messages, but the relationship was extinguished before it exploded.
