The teacher’s aunty, Ama Bruwah, a 54-year-old trader, said on Wednesday she went to pay him a visit at his place around 5pm, but observed that his room was locked and there was a strong odour coming out from the room with flies hovering all over the window.
She stated that she called the attention of the police and his co-tenants who forcibly opened the room and the teacher was found lying flat and bare-chested on a mattress on the ground.
The teacher was rushed to the St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Madam Bruwah explained that the deceased had epilepsy, and it was observed that his body was in a swollen state with blood dripping from his mouth.
According to a local media, GNA, Police Sergeant Francis Gomado, Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, confirmed the story and said that the body had been deposited at the St. Joseph’s Hospital pending further action.
GNA said that the deceased was recruited by their Agency during the coverage of the 2020 general elections as a volunteer at the Suhum constituency.
