7 River Basin Authorities MDs’ Tenure Extended By Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the extension of tenure for seven managing directors of the Rivers Basin Development Authorities with effect from 5th January, 2021.

Also, the president approved the appointment of two new managing directors for two other Rivers Basin Development Authorities.

The Director, Press and Public Relations in Ministry of Water Resources, Mrs. Kenechukwu Offie, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.

The managing directors whose appointments were extended for final term are: Prof. AbdulKarim Muhammad – Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority; Dr. Adeniyi Aremu – Lower Niger Rivers Basin Development Authority, Ilorin; and Saliu Ahmed – Benin-Owena Rivers Basin Development Authority.

Others are: Mr. Femi Odumosu – Ogun – Osun Rivers Basin Development Authority; Muhammad Adra – Lower Benue Rivers Basin Development Authority; Mr. Bassey Nkposong – Cross Rivers Basin Development Authorities; and Bature Mohammed – Sokoto Rima Rivers Basin Development Authority.

The new managing directors are: Ma’amun Da’u Aliyu – Managing Ditrector for Hedejia Jama’are Rivers Basin Development Authority; and Mark Darefaka – Managing Director for Niger Delta Basin Development Authority.

Mr. Aminu Abba’s appointment as Executive Director, Agricultural Services, Hedejia Jama’are Rivers Basin Development Authority was also approved by Mr. President.
